The illustration for the cover of Toad Shade Zine #1 was done by an amazing artist named Jason Tetreault. Pen and ink. He’s amazing.

We (mostly) finished issue #1. It was a lot of trial and error and I learned a lot about what I don’t know and biting off as much as you feel like chewing. If you ever think to yourself ‘I want to do this thing, but I don’t know how.’ you should go ahead and do it anyway. The world is full of things because people decided to do them and didn’t let their fears, hesitations, or common sense stop them. I’m not saying I’m changing the world over here with one issue of a zine, but I feel confident it hasn’t made the world a worse place to live.

I am saying, though, chase down whatever you feel passionate about and take your shot. If it doesn’t work out, try again. If it still doesn’t work out, you can say you tried. You won’t be one of those people who waits until the next life to try something, right?

Anyway, if you want a copy of this zine, I’m only printing them out on paper and mailing them. If you’re not in the US, send an email using the link below and let me know where you are. I’ll see if we can manage getting you a copy. Otherwise, use the link below if you’re in the continental US and want a copy all to yourself.
